Left upside down: Five practical beauty tricks to combat frizzy hair

Coat, scarf, hat – our hair does not always get along well with woolen accessories.

It’s beautiful in autumn. Faded leaves, gentle sunlight, time for coats, scarves and hats again. Less nice: things like electrified hair. As soon as you take off your scarf, all the strands come out of your head. What can you do about this? We have five tips for you:

1. Moisturize:

Since the air is very dry in winter, electrical charges in the body can hardly be dispersed through moisture. Electricity “builds up” in the body, causing hair to become statically charged and repel each other when it comes into contact with certain materials. That’s why you should only use rich, moisturizing shampoos in the shower. Also stay away from products containing alcohol; These dry your hair incredibly.

2. No heat

In the winter, it takes an incredible amount of effort to get out of a hot shower while water is still dripping. At least you can look forward to the hot hair dryer afterwards… But unfortunately, it doesn’t help at all in the fight against flyaway hair. In general, you should use as little heat as possible. And if blow-drying or straightening can’t be avoided, prep your mane with heat protection.

3. Hair brush

Don’t panic, of course you can still use it, but it depends on the material. Instead of plastic brushes, use models with wooden or other natural bristles; these provide less electrical friction.

4. Hand cream

If you have frizzy hair before an important appointment or meeting, it needs to be tamed in a few seconds. This is what hand cream is used for: Spread a pea-sized amount between your fingers and rub over your mane – done.

5. No synthetics

When it comes to brushes, we already know that nature always comes before plastic! It’s not surprising that this also applies to clothing. Hair becomes statically charged when in contact with synthetic fibres, this is less so with natural materials such as (cotton) wool.
