The ‘El Buen fork’ award ceremony will take place on October 25

This year 2023, the El Buen Tenedor platform will award prizes in 10 different categories. This edition once again celebrates creativity and Panamanian flavor.

This year the focus is on gastronomy and its endless possibilities as a creative industry under the motto “Creativity is a recipe”.

The awards, which were created by the gourmet Jorge Chanis Barahona 9 years ago, are a confirmation of the work of producers, chefs, restaurateurs, hotels and product distributors.

Panama has a huge gastronomic heritage, raw materials and great culinary talents: the best ingredients for a recipe for success in the commercial, tourist and cultural fields.

The candidates selected by the committee will be submit to the jury’s voteThe EU will represent 70% of the votes, and the public will be responsible for the remaining 30%. ANDOnline voting will last until October 19.

The highlight of this celebration will be the award ceremony. Good fork, which will be held at a gala ceremony on Wednesday, October 25 at the Sofitel Legend Casco Antiguo.

Among the categories established this year are: Panamanian cuisine todaygastronomic industry, Best service, Best coffee offer, Hotel with the best gastronomic offer, Tourist destination restaurant, and various additional awards such as the Gastronomic Excellence award.

As in previous years, it is included in program of production activities of mini-documentaries, on this occasion, highlighting the emblematic space of gastronomy in Panama City: the San Felipe Neri market.

These videos will be presented at the event called “Night at the market”, in which the best chefs and restaurants in the country will make interesting “couples” with sellers and producers from the San Felipe Neri market. This alliance can only offer a delicious result.

Nominees will cook, gaining all their own products on the market, showing great possibilities of domestic and seasonal consumption.

Gastronomy and art are also located in “Press pot.” This is a collaboration with the Casa Santa Ana Foundation that will lead three local artists to reflect on food security and access to drinking water, a work that is a call to awareness and action against these problems.

The name of this interesting project reflects the urgency with which he has to solve problems that I can’t wait any longer. The works will be exhibited in Casa Santa Ana.
