Wendy Guevara does not want the label of activist

Content creator Wendy Guevarawhich recently became the first trans woman to win a reality television competition on Mexican television, she recalled in an interview with EFE that although she is proud to be part of the community, she does not want to be labeled as an activist.

“I will always be a part (of the community), I’m a trans girl and I love being a trans girl, but sometimes there are people who want to put a flag on me as if I’m an activist, as if I’m the one who fights for the community,” said Guevara, who premieres the “reality show” this Thursday. “Wendy, lost but famous.”

The “influencer” said that she feels “great pride” in being part of the community and that, unlike other colleagues, she identifies as a trans woman, not only as a woman, but that, even so, her quest is not “to educate anyone.” “

“There are activists who fight for the community, but that’s not my case, my case is to make it visible and see that we can be on the television screen, trans girls and the community, that’s what I want them to see”he told.

She pointed out that it is one thing to be an activist and another to be a public figure, and that her goal is to pave the way for those who come, as Alejandra Bogue did in Mexico or La Veneno in Spain.

“They are very different things, but I am very proud of my community and the girls who defend us, the ones who are in groups and march,” she said.
