Exhibition “One Hundred Years of Plaza de Francia”

Plaza de Francia is celebrating, because it is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and among the activities on the occasion of this centenary, they are presenting an exhibition.

“One Hundred Years of Plaza de Francia” is an exhibition that highlights the tangible and intangible heritage of Panama and France.

A free sample will be open to public until 10.10. in the lobby of the Interoceanic Canal Museum.

The exhibition includes more than 30 photographic works and a replica of the obelisk of St french square, which invites a cultural journey, which leads the visitor to an understanding of the past and an analysis of the present together with new witnesses, a living heritage that merges with the biodiversity of the landscape.

Cities, castles, squares, ports, avenues, festive events, customsgastronomy and hiking as art, is an exhibition promoted by France.

For its part, Panama includes ancient and present images of its national identity, such as the monumental sites of the Plaza de Francia, the Transitima colonial route, indigenous knowledge and manifestations, Afro and local communities, craft techniques, such as painted hat, the Darienita and Corpus Christi dances among others.

This exhibition will travel through different provinces, accompanied by training, information and forums that will generate interest among tourists, locals and scholars, said Giselle González Villarrué, Minister of Culture.

He also remembered the 20th anniversary Convention on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage from 2003which allows us to celebrate together the living heritage that identifies us, and its surrounding landscape and monuments, from the concept of synergy and coexistence of conventions.

French Ambassador to Panama, Aude de Amorim, He asserted that “this exhibition represents a clear and understandable testimony of one of the cultural proposals, which shows the joy of our festivals, the beauty of our culture and the diversity of our landscapes, which is a better way to convey cultural sensations through art, thank you for the photos, we hope that this montage convey through time.”
