It is clear that after the finale of the first season of “Ahsoka” the story must and will continue. After all, there are many storylines in the air. Villain Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) and his loyal trio of night sisters have reached the famous ‘Star Wars’ galaxy, where they want to rebuild the empire from Dathomir and threaten the New Republic.
This story will probably become very important. We’ve long suspected that the big fight against Thrawn will be the focus of ‘Ahsoka’ creator Dave Filoni’s upcoming film. After all, the idea is that all the events from “Ahsoka”, “The Mandalorian” and Co. in this coming together.
But us now believe (and hope) that there will be a second season of “Ahsoka” that tells a completely different story and leaves Thrawn aside for the time being. This sequel has incredible potential and could show us a completely different “Star Wars”…
“Ahsoka: Season 2”: More from the New Galaxy!?
After all, the title heroine, droid Huyang (David Tennant), played by Rosario Dawson, and her comrade-in-arms Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) are stranded in another galaxy… pull out all the stops to return. On the contrary, they seem to agree that this is where they spend time. And that’s exactly what a second season could build on. After all, there is an incredible amount to tell and discover in this world.
So far we have only seen one planet in this galaxy. You could ignore Thrawn, Ezra, the Empire and the New Republic in the second season and focus entirely on this new side of “Star Wars.” Together with Ahsoka, Sabine and with surprised eyes We could wander through a world where many things are new and possibly completely different, and power also shows itself in a different way.
There is a lot to tell in the new galaxy
Not only is there a whole new world with countless locations to explore, but we already know there’s a lot to tell on that one familiar planet, Peridea. In the first season, a lot was hinted at about the planet. So we know that it is home to a power so great that even the Nightsisters fear it and therefore want to escape from this place with Thrawn. We don’t know yet what it is exactly.
Is it the same power Baylan Skroll (Ray Stevenson) is looking for? His story should certainly continue in some way – even without the famous actor Ray Stevenson, who unfortunately passed away a few months ago. The finale teases that Peridea could somehow even be a form of “home” for the force itself known from “Star Wars.” Finally, at the end we see Baylan in the images of the so-called Gods of Mortis or the Family of One. We have explained the images to you here:
Is there even a second season of “Ahsoka”?
As written at the beginning, Disney and Lucasfilm have not yet announced a second season of “Ahsoka”. The fact that social media dubbed the last episode a “series finale” has even led some to suspect that Disney is not planning a second season, but that the story will continue in other projects. The industry magazine but reports that a second season before the film is certainly conceivable. The strikes in Hollywood have so far made it impossible to have concrete discussions about this after the positive feedback on the first season, which people wanted to wait for.
And in the opinion of the author of these lines, those responsible should also make such a second season (even if, if in doubt, they give it a new name and on paper it is a different series). There are simply too many exciting stories in this new galaxy. What could be better for Star Wars than a completely new adventure in such a different place, where even Ahsoka doesn’t know what to expect…
