Dania Schiftan, a sex and psychotherapist from Zurich, knows the phenomenon of core flatulence from her own practice. “I’ve already given advice to women who only realize in retrospect that they orgasm while exercising,” she says. Others would experience a pleasant feeling in their stomachs while cycling and discover the possibility of greater self-fulfilment. “Generally, women find the tingling sensation pleasant,” says the expert. However, at first many people feel nervous and fear that something might be seen on them while they are around people.

The English term coregasm consists of the words “core” and “orgasm” and describes the orgasm that occurs entirely through physical tension during sports, without any sexual fantasy. If a woman suddenly feels a tingling sensation in her abdomen during training, most likely it is this phenomenon.

Some women can experience orgasm while doing yoga exercises.

American sex researcher and author Debby Herbenick (47) It found that women can experience belly gas, especially during activities that require deep abdominal muscles, such as abdominal exercises or weight lifting. It may also occur while climbing poles or ropes or while cycling. The abdominal muscles also trigger this there, reducing friction and pressure on the vulva. In Herbenick’s study, women reported that they climaxed during sports such as yoga or walking.

It’s not clear exactly what triggers the tightening of core muscles in the body. It is thought to activate the nerves in the pelvic floor. Additionally, blood circulation and movement can stimulate the nervous system and erectile tissue of the clitoris, leading to orgasm. Because core gas is not caused by sexual desire, researchers say it is less intense than a classic orgasm.

The tension responsible for the core gas could potentially have a negative impact on the gender of the pair.

According to Schiftan, approximately one-third of women can be aroused by increased tension in their bodies. For example, by stretching the pelvic floor or crossing your legs. This is generally a good way to arouse yourself, but under certain circumstances it can become a problem in couple sex.

According to Schiftan, if a woman is used to climaxing with this kind of tension, she may experience little arousal in positions where the legs are spread and relaxed. Or it may stretch, which can cause pain during penetration. Schiftan: “That’s why it’s so important for women to practice stretching and relaxing the pelvic floor.”
