Stop “Gladiator” at 86 minutes and 24 seconds – and you’ll be completely ripped out of the movie twice (!)!

Despite its epic, spectacular fight scenes, its excellent cast and its unforgettable, compelling score, Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator” also contains a few minor flaws if you watch it calmly and study the individual scenes particularly carefully. Of course no one is perfect, but in this case it is just very funny to pay more attention to some inappropriate details in between all the brutal action…

‘Gladiator’ is a hugely epic production and despite the high level of care usually taken in Hollywood, it is of course impossible to control every element of the film 100 percent in such an environment. Especially with such a legion of extras, the chance of (historical) errors is extremely high. Ridley Scott may not lose sleep over these film mistakes – but that doesn’t make them any less amusing.

Sneakers in ancient Rome

Some of these errors are very difficult to detect when you watch the movie normally, Nevertheless Are there some details that viewers can take directly from the film’s historical illusion? if they are discovered by chance. For example, if the movie pauses at one hour, 26 minutes, and 24 seconds:

During the unforgettable Colosseum scene with Maximus (Russell Crowe) and the barbarians of Carthage, you see a technician’s sneakers (circled in yellow in the image above) – modern and clearly not the usual clothing style of the Roman Empire.

This is not the only error that was overlooked when editing this series. Just twelve seconds later (at 1 hour, 26 minutes, and 36 seconds), another chariot appears and tips over after being hit. A gas canister suddenly becomes visible at the back of the trailer, which the stunt people apparently used as a mechanism to overturn the car. But once you’ve noticed it, you simply can’t miss it on further observations…

“Gladiator” can currently be seen at no extra cost with a subscription to Amazon Prime Video – and it’s worth it! Ultimately, despite such minor flaws, ‘Gladiator’ remains a great film, whose epic power is hardly compromised by such overlooked anachronisms…
