At Cachita, the interest in used clothes continues in the family: “My grandfather and my mother bought second-hand, and often in our family many things were passed down from generation to generation. “I also have an older sister, who often unwittingly becomes my second-hand source, since I prepare her wardrobe myself,” says the musician. .Her current favorite possession is a pair of bright red leather bell bottoms, which also feature on the cover of her EP “POV.”

Crimer’s favorite second-hand piece is a blue shirt with a white collar that he bought at Chemiserie in Zurich three years ago: “It has a style you rarely see these days. “It reminds me of a stockbroker in the old days,” the “Brotherlove” singer says.

VIP Flohmi is part of Second Hand Day, which takes place throughout Switzerland on 23 September. The day celebrates Switzerland’s second-hand scene with a variety of events: Online marketplaces, second-hand shops, swap meets and repair cafes draw attention to sustainable consumption with special offers.

Only 2 percent of goods traded in Switzerland in 2020 were second-hand. The goal of those who initiated the Second Hand Day project is to increase this rate to 5 percent by 2025.
