State competition in public speaking, selection of 15 finalists

They announced this on Thursday 15 finalists National Oratorical Competition this 2023, whose theme is “Energy transition in Panama: an opportunity for sustainability, democratization and economic development of the country.”

Students represent the official and private educational centers of the regions educational centers of Chiriquí, Bocas del ToroHerrera, Los Santos, Coclé, Panama Oeste, San Miguelito, Panama Norte and Panama Centro.

Those classified go directly to the grand final of the educational competition, which will be held on November 12 at 6:00 pm in the Atlapa Convention Center.

This 2023 competition will celebrate its 16th edition and will be broadcast on a major television, radio and internet network.

The next stage is preparation 15 finalists of the National Academy of Public Speaking for more than 35 days.

Finalists will be trained and rehearsed in specialized public speaking techniques, content, language, projection, hands-on workshops and keynote speeches on this year’s important topic.

Those who were selected had an impeccable presentation during the National Primary, held today at the Ascanio Arosemena Theater, where they contributed their perspectives in the circles –Spontaneous performance (40%) and Improvisation (60%)-whose central framework is the theme “Energy transition in Panama: an opportunity for sustainability, democratization and economic development of the country”, presented by the National Secretariat for Energy.

Each participant dealt with different scenarios in Spontaneous performance with the reality of the national framework with topics related to the energy transition where proposals, recommendations and best practices in the use of clean and sustainable energies that promote savings and actions of responsible consumption, transforming the way we consume energy in all our activities as a society, were additionally dealt with issues of carbonization, sustainability and economic development of the country, strengthening these thoughts as young people and citizens.

Now it’s up to these 15 finalists and their professor advisors to prepare for the October 3 to November 12 in National Academy of Public Speakingwith specialized public speaking techniques, practical workshops and master talks on various topics such as language use, grammar, writing, research, structure, critical thinking, text analysis, projection techniques and stage management, as well as courses in economics, finance, energy saving, culture, relevant topics affecting society and youth, seminars on protocol and etiquette, integration, technology, voice, teamwork and communication tools, among other disciplines.
