In 2018, ‘The Nun’, another spin-off from the horror universe ‘Conjuring’, was released in theaters and although the film was not exactly well received by critics and audiences, it received a 24 percent rating in the trade press and a score of 24 percent. Audience rating of 35 percent on the review aggregation platform speak clearly – the jump scare became a blockbuster. The nightmare nun was able to put more than 365 million dollars in the treasury worldwide. A sequel was only a matter of time.
Of “The nun 2The sequel opens in German cinemas today. The sequel is not only well received by the audience: 74 percent – but is also on the verge of becoming a real blockbuster. The film was released in early September in many countries, including the US, and has since grossed $168 million worldwide. Although the film falls well short of the grosses of its predecessor, with an estimated production cost of just under $38.5 million, the film is still an absolute hit.
The sinister nun also has a good chance of securing the title of highest-grossing horror film of the year. This prize is currently awarded to ‘Insidous: The Red Door’, which grossed $188.5 million. Since ‘The Nun 2’ is still releasing in a few countries, the film has a real chance of surpassing these numbers.

“The Replacements 4”
With “The Expendables 4” another sequel begins in German cinemas. In what is now the fourth adventure of the expendable mercenary group surrounding acting icon Sylvester Stallone, he now takes a back seat for the first time and hands over his leadership position to Jason Statham (“Meg 2”).
Yet there was a certain euphoria among fans beforehand, because the trailers once again promised what had once made the series so popular: Extremely hard action, fast one-liners and an adult age rating (FSK 18 in Germany).
The latest lead-filled adventure from The Expendables is appealing again, especially when it comes to violence, but unfortunately it doesn’t make for a good film. FILMSTARTS editor Björn Becher gives his review a weak 2 out of 5 stars and says:
