Hugs during the soul striptease: this is the new SRF dating show

“Deep Dating” pairs young singles who are very familiar with the vocabulary of therapy in record time.

Why exactly is Tarik, 29, looking for a man? Tarik thinks being alone is one of the nicest things and anything that is too cozy is suspicious. For example, the family situation of Nici, 23. Nici meets his sister every Thursday because the two of them started watching “Germany’s Next Top Model” on Thursdays years ago, and it was so nice that the sisterly Thursday dates were kept.

In just 23 minutes, presenter Gülsha Adilji, relationship therapist Ramona Zenger and Tarik discover that Tarik simply needs to take off his wetsuit-thick protective armor to be a little less fond of being alone. Just have the courage to be vulnerable! After that, nothing stands in the way of the happiness of Idyllemuffel Tarik and Thursday’s brother Nici.

Conveniently enough, the two have already dated in a life before “Deep Dating,” which sounds only a little like “Deep Fake,” which best describes the authenticity of the love seen all over TV. Because the queer scene is so small, says Gülsha. And Nici says Tarik even knows the suspiciously cozy plush pillow he brought to the studio as an important personal item (given to him by his sister).

However, Tarik not only has Nici to choose from, but also Nick and Martin, and Martin has already undergone self-esteem improvement therapy and is now feeling better, which Tarik fully recognizes. Nick wears a sweater that says “Forget the Rules,” which may conflict with his job as a firefighter. Tarik thinks: “Hey, Fürwehr, super hot”, logical. Who not.

“Deep Dating” is probably the most cost-effective dating show of all time. There is nothing in “Deep Dating”: no island, no communal meal, no wedding you’ve never met, no swimming pool, no villa, no trip to the elephant enclosure at the zoo, no visible tattoos, not even roses.

There are only Gülsha, Ramona, a person who no longer wants to be alone, and three who have to save him from it. Could this be what TV entertainment looks like after a passed halving initiative? Or is it just super efficient sex? Either way, it’s refreshingly liberating. And: Everyone is super nice to each other. You have no choice but to take off your protective suits here. The show screams soul striptease, it is the purest cuddly enclosure.

Gülsha and Ramona don’t want an “Oh my god, how boring!!!” ask questions, but prefer to move forward, quickly stab the armored heart area in a short time and crack people in a way that allows them to see more of each other than with each other 0815 Tinderdate. That works perfectly. Although the questions are not that exotic. In the style of: If someone likes acting, does she also like role-playing during sex?

In between, Gülsha faxes. Eats chips when she’s bored and shocked by the overreflection of the young lovebirds in front of her; she herself drank normally at that age. Calls a candidate “Cuddle Planet”.

The Cuddle Planet is called Naomi, is 22, and requests the favor of Tim, 23, together with Kristina, 23, and Kira, 21. Tim is looking for a woman with whom he can have a great time, anyway, looks don’t matter out, he likes all beautiful women, haha.

Kira brought her Romanian grandmother’s knitted cardigan with her as a personal item, because for her it symbolizes her own ‘identity crisis’. Kristina because she always finds it so difficult to cut ties in a relationship and deal with conflict, which is a suboptimal entry into the dating industry. Because Tim needs “upper where I am healed, not upper where I am healed”. Therapy Speak determines the daily life of a single person. And then Kristina also has a Moncler jacket, which is a red flag especially for Gülsha.

Tim chooses the cuddly planet. “You seemed very cool, reflective.” However, he imagined that Naomi was blonde. Appearance does play a role. What exactly she likes about him is not so clear, probably that he is so “completely healed” because she does not like uncertainty at all.

Meanwhile, Ramona explains the six phases of a relationship: infatuation, disillusionment, arguments, acceptance, surprising insights, love and fun. They sound like an unpleasant amount of stress. And Tim and Naomi now have to agree on whether they want to date “casually,” “exclusively” or even “officially.” Or not at all. Maybe now they’ve tasted blood and apply for ‘Bachelor’ or ‘First Dates’ or ‘Reality Shore’ and turn into normal reality zombies, who knows.

“Deep Dating” airs on Sundays on the YouTube channel SRF Mood and on Mondays at 11 p.m. on SRFzwei.
