Probably the most photographed mountain in Switzerland: the 4,478 meter high Matterhorn. As popular as the Matterhorn is with tourists, if you’re Swiss you should see it in real life. And not just on Toblerone packaging.

Best viewing spot: To truly admire the Matterhorn, Breithorn and the Monta Rosa massif, it is worth hiking to Höhbalmen in Valais. Those who don’t have heights can also go to the “Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge” for a breathtaking view.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site rises to an impressive height of 4,158.2 metres. The Jungfrau is the star of the triumvirate with the Eiger (3970 meters) and Mönch (4107 meters).

Best viewing spot: To experience the spectacle up close, head directly to Jungfraujoch, Europe’s highest train station. Alternatively, you can enjoy views of the triumvirate at Piz Gloria, a revolving restaurant in the Bernese Oberland in Schilthorn.

Rigi impresses less with its height of 1,797.5 meters and more with its magnificent view of Lake Lucerne. Depending on the time of day and the weather, the lake near Lucerne turns into a mysterious sea of ​​fog.
