TV Alert: ProSieben is showing Marvel movies all day today – but we can’t recommend it!

ProSieben is celebrating “Marvel Day” again today. From the early morning hours to late evening, a total of seven MCU films will be shown back-to-back – culminating in the free TV premiere of “Black Widow” at 8:15 p.m. But be careful when switching on! Before we get into that, first an overview of the films:

  • 8:10: “Ant-Man and the Wasp”
  • 10:20 am: “Black Panther”
  • 12.50 pm: “Thor: The Dark Kingdom”
  • 3 p.m.: “Guardians Of The Galaxy”
  • 5:05 PM: “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2”
  • 8:15 p.m.: “Black Widow
  • 11 p.m.: “The Return of the First Avenger”

Please note: shortened MCU films on ProSieben

The problem: the Marvel movies are ordinary Approved by the FSK in Germany from the age of 12 – and may therefore not be fully included in the daily program. There have been exceptions in the past where ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’ was shown uncut by ProSieben in the afternoon, but past examples show that that the majority of titles will be shortened.

They are also not small pieces of a few seconds. In the past, some of these titles were missing two to three minutes. ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ was missing for almost seven (!) minutes in a broadcast earlier afternoon by ProSieben competitor RTL. Nearly every action scene was illuminated by a few seconds of brutality; there were more than 70 cuts at the time.

Only the two late broadcasts are guaranteed uncut – especially the free TV premiere of “Black Widow” at 8:15 PM However, for all other titles there is a risk of very significant cuts. We recommend alternatives for the other titles. All these Marvel titles are fully available on the Disney+ streaming service.

By the way, the next MCU movie in theaters is “The Marvels,” which is expected to open on November 8, 2023. In the sequel to “Captain Marvel” and the Disney Plus series “WandaVision” and “Ms. Marvel” three heroines have to work together. Because something makes ‘Captain Marvel’ Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), ‘Ms. Marvel’s Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) switch places every time they use their powers.
