Quentin Tarantino’s latest film has already set a record – and the lead actor has reportedly been confirmed

In fact, Hollywood has virtually come to a standstill due to strikes. But a few productions are allowed to continue with exemptions because, unlike the major studios such as Disney and Warner and the streaming services such as Netflix, the production companies behind them accept the conditions of the two unions of the authors and the actors. Quentin Tarantino’s ‘The Movie Critic’ could also be one of them – at least the project is making great progress.

This was announced in a press release from the Californian Film Fund that the project, currently listed as “#10,” is worth a $20.2 million tax credit receives. In return, Quentin Tarantino must agree to shoot his film in California – an easy task for the director.

Record edition for Tarantino’s “The Movie Critic”

In the press release he explains that he likes filming in California: “I started directing films here – and it is only fitting that I shoot my very last feature film in the cinema capital of the world.”, he pointed out that he will be filming in Los Angeles. His hometown also has the “best crews in the world” and “excellent filming locations.”

The production, which is currently taking place entirely without studio support and is independently financed, is likely to be very expensive. According to that “The Movie Critic” is expected to spend more money in California than any other subsidized film in the history of state tax credits. The previous record was recently set by the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic “Michael” by Antoine Fuqua (“The Equalizer 3”). In California alone, expenditures would amount to $120.1 million.

Tarantino’s ‘The Movie Critic’ is now expected to release $128.4 million in California alone. This amount should not be confused with the film’s budget, which is still unknown. But it’s an indication that Tarantino’s last film will also be his most expensive. So far this is “Django Unchained” with a budget of $100 million.

Will Paul Walter Hauser become Tarantino’s film critic?

Meanwhile, a rumor is going around that Tarantino has already found his leading man. According to the creator He already stars film critic Jim Sheldon as a character actor Paul Walter Hauser offered. Hauser is best known for playing the title role in Clint Eastwood’s The Richard Jewell Case. His other roles included “I, Tonya,” “BlacKkKlansman,” “Cruella” and the series “In with the Devil.”

However, this information should still be viewed with caution and classified as a rumor. Richtman has received accurate information in the past, but has also been wrong several times. In any case, Hauser’s personality fits with the ‘Pulp Fiction’ director’s statement that an American actor with whom he has never worked before will take on the role.

The focus of Tarantino’s latest film is on critic Jim Sheldon, who gets into mischief in 1970s Hollywood and reviews mainstream films for the porn magazine The Popstar Pages. With his argumentative style, his loud manner and his many insults, he is likely to make some enemies.

It is not yet known when “The film critic“must come to the cinema.
