The three ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ films have excited a large audience worldwide and are already cult. After ‘Volume 3’, which has also been available to stream on Disney+ since August, this version of The Guardians is over for the time being. Director James Gunn is now dedicating himself to the DC Universe and has his hands full.
Anyone who still misses the beloved characters from the films should really enjoy the series ‘I am Groot’ – even though it is theoretically quite small, because the episodes are very short. How great that season 2 started a few days ago on Disney+.
And there is a second piece of good news! If you haven’t seen the first season of ‘I Am Groot’ yet and don’t want to subscribe to Disney+, you can still watch all five episodes now – for free! Marvel Studios released season 1 in its entirety on YouTube:
That’s what ‘I Am Groot’ is about
“I am Groot” is, in the truest sense of the word, a small MCU series that is not necessarily intended to expand on the already known title characters, but should rather be seen as a short piece of fun in between. Mini-episodes are told from the life of the tree creature Groot (originally spoken by Vin Diesel), which are also linked to the ‘Guardians’ films.
In the second season of ‘I am Groot’ the tree also meets his friend Rocket (which of course means a guest appearance by Bradley Cooper) and the Watcher from the series ‘What If?’. Groot also needs money for ice cream and discovers the world of scents – a lot of hustle and bustle for a tree…
