Benjamin Cohen: Recent successes and future projects

“Los Inolvidables” and “Los Rabanes El Musical” are the two latest works on stage by Benjamin Cohen, a playwright, director and screenwriter who made his debut in the performing arts at the age of barely 17.

Two recent additions to Cohen’s extensive body of work have not gone unnoticed, not only were they successful at the box office, “Unforgettable” won eight statuettes at the Scene Awards, including “Best Musical”, “Best Director”, “Best Work of the Year”, among others .

WITH “The Rabanes The Musical”which debuted on July 27, Cohen had one of the seasons he was most successful as a writer, composer and director.

And even though the season just ended, “the youngest writer and producer in Latin America“, as Cohen is cataloged by the media, he is already working on his next one staging.

Cohen writes and composes another one musicalwhich bears the name “Debutantes”. ring? According to the information of the director, at the same time partner and founder Pacific Theaterwill be “a musical comedy set in the context of one of the city’s most exclusive social clubs.”

Benjamin Cohen studied social communication at the University of Santa María, Caracas-Venezuela. He studied writing with award-winning playwright Ana Teresa Sosa at the Department of Culture of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) and television directing with Grazio D’Ángelo.

Both telenovelas were award-winning, and working at RCTV, Cohen developed his own skills as a screenwriter in series such as “Love to the Stick”, “Za sve visoko”, “Woman with Pants” and “Shattered Black”.

He was an associate producer on the big screen “The Last Bandoneon” Alejandro Sáderman, has also created advertising campaigns for important international companies.

Finally, in addition to being a producer of the biggest theatrical hits, Cohen deals with distribution labor rights theaters for the whole world through the Theater Agency, which he founded and with which he cooperates with important distributors in England, Spain and Argentina.
