Winter is coming. Temperatures are dropping, but not just outside. We can heat a little less because of energy shortages and high costs.
We bring more warmth and comfort to our living rooms with autumn colours, cute materials and warm light sources. These are living trends for fall and winter.
Focus on nature
Scandinavians describe the feeling of security, comfort and satisfaction as “hygge”. This word is heard more and more often in this country when it comes to furniture trends. This winter season “Scandi style” is in fashion. The lifestyle is characterized by natural materials and elegant colors. Light wood and furniture in tones such as cream-white, beige or light gray bring naturalness to the home. Earth tones such as sand, taupe, brown or olive are also very popular this fall.
return of the 70’s
Soft fabrics keep us warm this winter. We make our home warm with comfortable pillows, wool blankets and soft carpets. Corduroy fabric from the 70s, used to cover furniture, is especially popular this season. The fabric provides comfort and is easy to combine.
The retro look isn’t just celebrating its comeback with corduroy. Round shapes known from the 70s dominate furniture and decorative items. Curves bring dynamism to the room and guarantee indifference. Round armchairs, tables, carpets or round-shaped artistic sculptures are particularly popular these days.
Warm light to feel good
We make our homes simpler on winter days with warm light sources. This can be done without much effort by candlelight, which creates a romantic atmosphere.
Warm lamplight is also very fashionable this year. For example, with paper lamps that illuminate the room with a pleasant light. Thick paper catches the light and makes it look more delicate and soft. During the day, the lamps function as works of abstract art. Indirect lighting can also be created by rotating a floor lamp to illuminate a wall.
