at the moment introspection through a multitude of situationsSantiago questioned whether he really wanted to dedicate himself to music and with the help of therapy he discovered his purpose, thus his affinity for music therapy.

Santiago, with a degree in fine arts with a specialization in Saxophone from the University of Panama, He is a witness of how music can affect people’s mood without words, so before presenting he asks that his interpretation bring joy, peace and love to those who need it.

Although Santiago, 29, loves saxophone and playing, she does not see herself as a saxophonist as such, but projects herself into the future by helping people with music through music therapy.

He admitted that he never had any doubts about the instrument he would play when he joined Band Justo Arosemena Collegewhere she graduated, at about 12 years old, she always says that the saxophone chose her, and even though she was not really convinced, because of the topic of going to rehearsals, her brother persuaded her and together they were part of the group, although she was the only one who developed a close relationship with music.

After he finished school, one of his teachers informed him that he had a place in the Institutional Protection Service (SPI), he joined the security institution in order to show his parents that they were not really convinced that Sam would devote himself to music, who was not wrong, he described this stage as a different experience and a lot of learning, but she didn’t last long because in the end she became another woman in uniform.

The aspiration for further musical development was still latent, even when the study of music was not his first option, but psychology, however, due to personal problems this did not happen and before the school of this career there was a music school, and not to lose a year when it was motivated by his mother to enroll in the latter.

The saxophonist has been playing professionally since she was 18 represented the country abroad as in Costa Rica, Colombia and Mexico with the saxophone quartet, of which he was a part, and in England and Uruguay with “Mécánica Informal”.

It is worth mentioning that the saxophonist’s motivation for going to the master’s degree in music therapy is partly related to her initial desire to study psychology.
