Designer bags cost a lot of money. But for some it’s worth the investment: Some models never go out of style and stay with us forever.

one

Balenciaga: Motorcycle Bag

A luxury piece that is down to earth and looks cool thanks to rivets and zippers. You won’t find any tag marks on this model, and the Balenciaga Motorcycle Bag also lacks elegant trim.

Channel: 2.55

Meanwhile, Chanel’s 2.55 bag, released in 1955, was dismissed as a grandmother’s accessory. Wrong! Even today, the model is considered everyone’s classic. The quilting pattern and leather-braided carrying chain make the handbag just as it is. The piece is available in all colors.

3

Chloe: Faye

Although this model is just a toddler among the classics, it has already built up a huge fan club during this time. Launched in the 2015 summer collection, Chloé Faye has been making women’s hearts beat faster with her ’70s-inspired look and glamorous closure ever since.

4

Dior: Saddle Bag

Saddle by Dior had a real revival last year. In fact, he is already an old acquaintance: in the fall of 1999 the model was launched under the direction of then Dior chief designer John Galliano (62). As the spirit of the times changed over the years, Dior stopped it. But last year, vintage saddles were repeatedly seen on the arms of influencers on Instagram. Today the classic is on sale again and shines eye-catching in all colors and patterns.

5

Dior: Lady Dior

It was the trademark of Lady Diana (1961-1997): Lady Dior bag. And not just because of the name similarity. The model with fixed bow handles and typical quilted embroidery became the deceased princess’s most faithful companion.

6

Givenchy: Antigona

Givenchy’s Antigona handbag offers ample storage space in its dimensions. Its neatly structured cut adapts to any look and always makes the model a suitable companion.

7

Gucci: Dionysus Bag

Considered one of the fashionistas’ It-bags for years: Gucci’s Dionysus Bag captivates in ’70s style and with a double blade and a double-headed lion hook. The granny pattern is embellished with cheerful splashes of color and glittery applications.

8.

Hermes: Birkin Bag

It is the most legendary handbag in fashion history. The Hermès Birkin Bag is named after British actress Jane Birkin († 76). Legend has it that she met then-Hermès President Jean-Louis Dumas († 72) on a plane in 1981. The actress complained about the poor workmanship of her bag and the lack of simple, large handbags. Without further ado, Birkin sketched his dream bag on a napkin. Dumas then put his idea into practice and named the bag after its creator.

The Birkin Bag has been handmade since 1984. Due to its high price and few copies, it is more of a status symbol than a simple bag. A model can cost between $9,000 and $150,000, as each bag is made with great labor. The waiting time is correspondingly long, but it’s worth it: the luxury part doesn’t lose its value even after decades.

9

Hermes: Kelly Bag

Another Hermès model named after a famous woman. The original name of the handbag was Petit Sac Haut à Courroies. A boring name that almost no one can remember. Petit Sac Haut à Courroies became world-famous when the actress and later Princess Grace Kelly († 52) held her Hermès bag in front of her belly to hide the first folds of pregnancy in 1956, and was simply called the Kelly Bag from then on. The handbag is still popular today, thanks to its timeless cut and simplicity.

10

Louis Vuitton: Fast Bag

One of the most popular designer bags in the world is the Louis Vuitton Speedy Bag. The round classic with the look of the famous monogram fits into any look and is considered one of the designer’s cheapest models.

11th

Prada: double bag

It goes well with a business suit, but also with a simple casual look. Its plain design and simple look make the Prada Double Bag a popular bag.

12

Saint Laurent: monograms

Anyone who likes big logos will look good on this model. Saint Laurent’s small monogram shoulder bag impresses with its simple design and draws attention with its large “YSL” logo.

13

Stella McCartneyFalabella

The chain look adds a rocking twist to the Stella McCartney signature Falabella bag. However, with its simple cut, it also suits more elegant looks. The model is also a quick-change artist: you can carry it by its two handles, or fold the Falabella with a longer chain and throw it over your shoulder.
