Absolutely perfect: you must have overlooked these mistakes in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight”!

Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan is considered a perfectionist. The director leaves nothing to chance, which is admired by many, but has also led to criticism of his films as being too cool and slick. However, the relatively realistic Batman version of The Dark Knight is considered by some to be one of the greatest superhero movies of all time. controlled direction, but also in the film and the concept itself.

But with every major film production, mistakes happen that those responsible don’t notice until later – or particularly observant viewers. Even a meticulous director like Christopher Nolan sometimes overlooks some detail. Here are some of his biggest omissions from The Dark Knight!

1. Camera helicopter in view

Immediately in the opening scene of the film, in which the Joker’s henchmen plot a spectacular bank robbery, a helicopter can be seen briefly in the reflection of the building on the left edge of the frame – the same helicopter from which the shot was taken of one of the villains who shot a harpoon from one skyscraper to another. In the end, that is of course not too bad: in a metropolis like Gotham, a helicopter is of course not really a strange object…

2. Missing body

After the bank robbery, one of the Joker’s henchmen drives a school bus into the bank. He helps the villain load the bags of money into the getaway vehicle, but is suddenly shot in the chest by the Joker and falls to the ground near the bus door. Soon after, the Joker puts a smoke grenade in the bank manager’s mouth and gets on the bus – but while we should be able to see the corpse from this perspective, it mysteriously disappeared…

3. Change hand position

During the intense interrogation scene where Batman loses control and beats up the Joker, the Joker’s hands hold Batman’s forearms from bottom to top. However, when the image changes, his hands are suddenly on Batman’s forearms. After another cut, his hands are down again:

4. Cameraman in the window

In the same scene, Bruce Wayne’s loss of control apparently rubbed off on Christopher Nolan twice: because not only did the director overlook the changing hand positions, but his own cinematographer too! As Batman slams the Joker against the wall, the cameraman and his equipment can be seen in the reflection on the right – just a split second if you hit pause at the right moment, but all the more clearly…

5. Where are the cracks in the wall?

Anyone who thinks this really must be all the mistakes that happened in this scene is wrong. While Christian Bale emphasized on several occasions that everyone involved placed great importance on making the interrogation scene particularly realistic, a closer look can’t quite see through this intent: pay close attention to the cracks that form in the wall after the Joker bangs his head against it – if it is not a self-healing wall, then the disappearing cracks in the tiles are probably a classic case of connection errors…
