Widow breaks her silence on ‘Playboy’ boss Hugh Hefner

Partying, flashbulbs and public life – at the age of 21, Crystal Hefner met the late ‘Playboy’ boss Hugh Hefner at a party and moved in with him a short time later. Outwardly, the 37-year-old seemed to lack nothing. But in her memoir “Only say good things” (German: Only say good things) she paints a different picture.

In addition to her, the twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon also lived in the “Playboy” mansion, with whom Hugh Hefner also had a relationship. “It all happened very, very quickly. I think he had a lot of experience getting people to move in right away. The ‘I love you’ conversations got going pretty quickly,” Crystal Hefner recalled.

In general, life in the villa was more of a nightmare. Crystal was not allowed to leave the house after 6 p.m. and vacations were unthinkable, she writes. However, due to guilt towards Hefner, Crystal Hefner did not want to break up. But it wasn’t just the time with Hugh Hefner that weighed on her, it was also tense with the other women. “You’re in a place where you can easily be replaced, so you’re always on the alert. It’s hard to make friends,” explains Crystal Hefner afterwards.

When Hugh Hefner died in 2017, Crystal was by his side. Before he died, he would have asked her to tell only good things about him. But today she reveals a relationship that seemed to be marked by “love bombing” and dependency. Crystal Hefner is single and says she’s still learning what it’s like to date and be in a relationship like a normal person.

Crystal Hefner isn’t the only ‘Playboy’ bunny talking about Hugh Hefner’s dark side. The founder of “Playboy” was accused by several of his friends of blackmailing them with nude photos. While clearing the villa, Crystal came across these photos: “I just thought, what if I were the women in the photos, what would I want to do with them? So I tore them all up and threw them away,” she now explains .
