Those who walk regularly will do something good for their soul and body.

Walking keeps you fit both physically and mentally. The fresh mountain air and beautiful scenery help you get rid of the stress of daily life and clear your mind.

Along with the constant movement applied while climbing the mountains, it has many positive effects on health. It’s time to put on your hiking boots again, feel nature and enjoy the scenery.

1. Good for cardiovascular system

If you go for a walk regularly, it has a positive effect on your stamina. Your heart rate and blood pressure will decrease and your blood will flow better. If you are struggling with high cholesterol and your blood lipid level is low, you can overcome these problems by walking.

2. Good for the immune system

Regular exercise allows the body to better destroy harmful cells and activate its own defense cells more effectively. The entire immune system is trained. Because of this, hikers who work hard are less sick on average, and they are also not as susceptible to infectious diseases.

3. It is good for obesity

Walking is a sport that almost everyone can do. Even slightly overweight people can do simple walks and thus gradually increase their endurance. Regular walking also helps to lose body weight. It is even said that the mountain air suppresses the appetite and thus helps to lose weight.

4. Good for bones and joints

Walking strengthens the leg muscles, which relaxes the knees and hips. In general, regular exercise prevents postural damage as the back and abdominal muscles also become more prominent. Joints are supplied with important nutrients that help prevent them from becoming porous.

5. Good for metabolism

Diabetics need to be aware of prolonged walking: for them, longer, lighter runs are better than short, high-intensity workouts. Walking can reverse insulin resistance and reduce the risk of developing diabetes.

6. Good for the brain

Not only physical fitness is happy in hiking units, the brain also benefits from trips in the mountains. Fresh air and intense movement increase performance by providing better blood circulation in the brain. Walks in nature should also prevent dementia later on.

7. Good for the soul

Long-term walking reduces stress, helps to shut down, raises the mood and has an antidepressant effect. Walking can be a real miracle cure for the soul! Just looking at a view lowers your heart rate and blood pressure. It also reduces the release of stress hormones such as cortisol. Exercising in nature not only relaxes you but also distracts you from negative thoughts. Hormones such as serotonin are released more and more, thus causing feelings of happiness.

8. Tidy means really tidy

However, if you want to experience all these positive effects, you also need to go to the mountains regularly. At least two units a week, in which you change clothes for 30 to 45 minutes each, are necessary to improve health. Less exercise can cancel out these positive effects.

Finally, a weakened variant can also be applied: walking! Fast walking without slow walking can be done anywhere and supplemented with walking units every few weeks.
