Taylor Swift concerts in Zurich: Tickets were gone after 30 minutes

In the summer of 2024, the American pop singer will be touring Europe. Taylor Swift will stop in Zurich on July 9 and 10 before traveling on to Germany. But the tickets for the “Eras Tour” were wildly popular.

Sales for the Swiss concerts started at 10 a.m. – by 10:30 a.m. all tickets were gone.

If you wanted to get a ticket, you had to have a lot of perseverance in advance – and good luck. First of all, a presale registration was activated. If you want to win a ticket in the presale, you must register there no later than 23 June.

On July 5, ticket seekers then received the message by e-mail: Either you were lucky and can buy a ticket in advance on July 13 – or not. The draw was random, Ticketcorner writes in the accompanying email.

If you weren’t lucky, you were put on a waiting list. In a second email a week later, the formerly satisfied Swift fans received a link to the Ticketcorner website and a personal access code. This code entitles you to four tickets for the selected concert and may not be passed on to others under any circumstances.

Today, July 13 at 10 a.m., the time had come: the presale page went online. The great beaver began. Participating in the presale was not a guaranteed ticket. Ticketcorner wrote in its email: “Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.”

Presale for the concerts in Germany took place on Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The prices for the concerts in Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg and Munich are around 100 to 240 euros. In Switzerland, prices are the same, if not higher.

The “Tour der Ären”, as the concert series would be translated into German, is Taylor Swift’s sixth tour and has been running since March 2023. The shows would lead through her eras, so she will sing different songs from all of her albums. The tour includes a total of 131 shows and is expected to conclude in London on August 17, 2024.

During their last tour in 2018, every concert was completely sold out. If Swift can earn as much per show during this concert series as she did on the previous tour, she would gross about $850 million. This could make the tour the most successful of all time. This place is currently occupied by Elton John with his “Farewell Yellow Brick Load” tour, which only ended on July 8 this year. It grossed a total of $910 million.
