And-Nesta, a year has passed since his untimely death

In 2022, on this date, the news of the death of I-Nesta, at the age of 40, was announced to the public, so today marks one year of his “physical absence”.

Masses will be held in different parts of the country in honor of Joseph Apolay, the real name of the artist known as “El rasta del futuro”, who is considered one of the greatest representatives of roots reggae in Panama.

For commemorating the first year of death musicians, there will be mass in the Cathedral of San Juan Bautista (Penonomé – 5:00 p.m.), the parish of Santa Eduviges (Betania – 5:00 p.m.), the parish of San Juan Apóstol (Brisas del Golf – 6:30 p.m.) and the Sagrada Familia (Chiriquí – 6:30 p.m. ).

Information about the mass was published on the Instagram profile (@elrastadelfuturo) that the musician used while he was alive, and where his posts from that time are still preserved.

Those who cannot get close to the places where the mass will be celebrated, are asked to join prayer from home, work or wherever they are.

“(…) We miss you very much, Joseph, your essence as a person and your inspiring music will be legacy it will remain forever,” the post said.

In the publication, friends, colleagues and fans took the opportunity to remember the artist. DR Wonder, Banton coffeeJehan Carlos Barrios, Juan David Chacón and dozens of users recalled “El rasta del futuro”.

The musician started his career in 1997, playing bass and guitar in some bands Rock and roll in college, that’s when his interest in genres was born in 2000 reggae roots and ballroom.

He recorded his first songs “Sistema babilon”, “En las calles” and “Rasta es un amor” with the help of Dj Vacula and Dj Cunfly, and only in 2006 did he release his first record production.

I-Nesta was part of groups such as “Prophetic culture”“Gondwana” and “Cafres”, in addition, his repertoire includes hits such as “Todo vuelve a su lugar”, “Qué es lo que pasa” and “Black woman”.

Nando Boom, The Doors, Gun’s N Roses, Renato and Chicho Man and Bob Marley are some of the artists who influenced the music of “El rasta del futuro”.
