Madonna spoke for the first time about the medical emergency that took her off stage, assured her that she was “on the road to recovery” and thanked her fans for their love.
The 64-year-old singer posted the message on Instagram nearly two weeks after her manager Guy Oseary announced that the singer had to be hospitalized with a serious bacterial infection and was postponing her upcoming world tour.
“Thank you for your positive energy, prayers and healing and encouraging words“, said the artist at the beginning of her short text.
“I felt your love. I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life,” she added.
“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children,” she said.
“My second thought was that I don’t want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour,” added Madonna, who also expressed regret for her workers.
Now I am focused on my health and strength and I assure you that I will be back as soon as I can!
