‘Jazz’: Auditions for the Big Band Daughters of Jazz

What are Daughters of Jazz Big Band? It is an educational project of the Danilo Pérez Foundation that promotes the development of girls and women through music.

They announced this week opening auditions of instruments for all Panamanian women or residents of Panama of all ages and regions of the country interested in participating in the Big Band.

This project brings together girls and women from different generations, inviting them to exchange their opinions on music, education and social development through talks, didactic concerts in official schools and private, auditions, ensemble lessonsmusical presentations, among other things, in an effort to promote opportunities for women with talent in music and related careers.

The Daughters of Jazz Big Band is under the executive direction of Aleida Duartes and the musical direction of the executive director of the Panama Jazz Festival, Patricia Zárate de Pérez, a team of educators from the Danilo Pérez Foundation.

It has musical advice from the creator of the first assembly of jazz woman in Panama, drummer Jas Kayser.

Panama Jazz Festival produces Panama Jazz Productions in favor of F.Danilo Pérez Foundation in the co-production of the City of Knowledge.

Those selected will be contacted for a virtual interview and must be available from January 2 to 14, 2024 for rehearsals and during the Panama Jazz Festival from January 15 to 20, 2024.
