“Sex Education” returns in September for a fourth and final season. Netflix announced this on Wednesday. The final season with Asa Butterfield and Gillian Anderson will be released on Netflix on September 21, almost two years after season three.
A statement read: “This decision was not an easy one for us, but as the new season’s themes and storytelling crystallized, it became clear that now is the right time to conclude.”
The students, who have been following fans for three seasons, graduate from Moordale Secondary High and struggle to make their way into college. Otis must prove herself as a therapist, Eric desperately wants to be popular, while Maeve pursues her dreams far away in the US.
But Cavendish Sixth Form College is a culture shock for any Moordale graduate: daily yoga in the community garden, a strong focus on sustainability, and a group of students popular for being nice. Viv is stunned by the university’s uncompetitive approach, while Jackson continues to struggle to get over Cal. Aimee tries to reinvent herself through art and Adam questions his ability to navigate a normal school.
The following actors will be back:
Newcomers include Dan Levy, Thaddea Graham, Lisa McGrillis, Marie Reuther), Jodie Turner-Smith, Eshaan Akbar, Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa, Alexandra James, Reda Elazouar, Bella Maclean and Imani Yahshua.
Four actresses will be absent from the final season: Rakhee Thakrar (played teacher Emily Sands), Patricia Allison (played Ola), Tany Reynolds (played Lily, Ola’s girlfriend), and Simone Ashley (played Olivia).
