Fueled by the success of “X-Men” and “Spider-Man”, there was already an initial heyday for superhero movies in the early 2000s, but almost none of them could match the quality of the titles mentioned at the beginning. Even “Daredevil” starring Ben Affleck, released in 2003, is still considered mediocre at best, a far cry from the quality of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) that began with “Iron Man” in 2008. But now Affleck really could slip back into the red leather suit — in “dead pool 3“.
There was evidence of this as far back as late June 2023, when the normally fairly reliable scooper and author KC Walsh wrote , that Ben Affleck was spotted on the set of Deadpool 3 footage, which has already been taken in many places as confirmation of a Daredevil comeback. Now, however, there is another hint from a reliable source:
Also has repeatedly demonstrated in recent weeks and months that he or she has insider information on current and upcoming Marvel projects. And loud Will Ben Affleck return as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil in Deadpool 3?
Of course, despite the growing evidence, these are still just rumors, but it would fit with what we know about Deadpool 3: In it, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) seem to embark on a journey that will take them through the different timelines and parallel worlds of the Marvel Multiverse, while the Time Variance Authority (of “Loki TVA” fame) attaches itself on their tracks.
Various versions of Wolverine have already been rumored, a return of Chris Evans as Johnny Storm from the “Fantastic Four” movies, and numerous comebacks from the old “X-Men” series. Of course, it would also fit very well to show Affleck as an aged Daredevil. However, all of these appearances are likely to be quite brief, and the characters play more of a supporting role in “Deadpool 3” – if at all.
We’ll know exactly what’s going on in less than a year: “Deadpool 3” is scheduled to hit German cinemas on May 1, 2024.
