National Handicrafts Fair: Agenda of this fair event

This year, the National Handicrafts Fair is the 43rd edition, and more than 400 artisans will participate in it.

The fair will be held in Atlapa Convention Center, July 26-30 over the next five days, visitors will be able to observe and purchase handicraft products from different regions of the country.

It will be possible to enjoy the presentation of artists on stage, with an average of 16 folklore groups per day.

Programming includes a Gastronomic corner with 19 food stalls and six gastronomic areas, with a variety of typical Panamanian dishes, such as changa, tamales, buns, roast pork, milk eggs, chicheme chorrerano, two stands of Afro-Caribbean gastronomy and a menu for children and others with the intention of making them feel integrated in the activity.

In addition, it will have an educational pavilion, with 11 workshops, where the public You will have the experience of knowing the work of craftsmen in the process of making cutar and “pintao” hats, among other crafts.

There will be international guests who will share theirs knowledgeexhibitions of carnival costumes, discussion tables, costume museum, drum and mask workshop, among other novelties.

The fair will have a new setting, i.e La Huaca Theater with presentations by the Network of Youth Orchestras and Choirs of Panama and the National Ballet of Panama, along with traditional competitions, such as: Skirts of Work, in honor of Marina García; Outstanding Artisan, Youth Artisan, the new Camisillas competition in honor of Doña Edicta de Vásquez and the additional Artisan Queen competition.
