It’s not that easy to keep up with the plethora of deals on Prime Day 2023. In addition to 4K televisions and Amazon devices, projectors will probably also be on sale on July 11 and 12. However, many nameless manufacturers greatly dilute the selection. Here are five projectors to keep an eye out for on Prime Day.
There are different types of projectors, all of which have their advantages and disadvantages. We’ve focused here on the three most common designs: ceiling-mounted projectors, ultra-short-throw (UKD) projectors, and mini-on-the-go projectors.
Ceiling projector: with upscaled 4K
The classic projectors are models that can be placed or hung from the ceiling. If you choose the latter, the beamer will not disturb the room. However, assembly requires manual dexterity.
Epson is an established brand in the projector segment and has one Epson EH-TW6250* created a projector with an excellent price-performance ratio. Recently, the projector was available on Amazon for less than 1,000 euros. The smaller Epson EH-TW6150* is currently available from Amazon for 898.39 euros. Compared to its big brother, it lacks the integrated WLAN stick with Android TV.
Brightness is the highlight of the EH-TW6250: the Epson projector creates up to 2,800 lumens, which is in this price segment unusual and can project images in 4K resolution on the screen using pixel shifting. In addition, the EH-TW6250 convinces with its Smart TV function, with which you can control all relevant streaming services.
Ultra-short-throw projector: perfect for the sideboard in front of the screen
The advantage of an ultra-short-throw projector (UKD) is already in the name: it can be placed very close to the screen and therefore does not take up much more space than a television.
Again, there are many good models. Thanks to its spectacular image, the Hisense PX1 Pro is one of the absolute must-haves in this segment. You are currently getting it Hisense UKD projector at Amazon with 34 percent discount for 1,970.57 euros.
The Hisense PX1 Pro also uses Pixel Shift to upscale Full HD content to 4K. Thanks to three built-in lasers, the UKD projector achieves an enormous color range. But beware: the image of the PX1 Pro is at least 2.20 meters high, so you need a large enough wall. A special screen for UKD projectors is also recommended to get the maximum light intensity from the Hisense.
Mini projector: ideal for on the go
Battery-powered and small in size, mini projectors are perfect for on-the-go use, whether in the office for a quick presentation or for an impromptu movie night with friends. The downside: Mini projectors are significantly dimmer than their big siblings.
A good option is the Anchor Nebula capsule 3*, which is currently available for only 749 euros thanks to a 100 euros voucher on Amazon. The compact projector delivers a good and especially clear image in full HD resolution in a dark environment. The built-in battery lasts about two hours, but the anchor projector can also be used on mains power.
A very cheap alternative is the Jimveo Mini Projector C11*, which you can currently get from Amazon for only 99.99 euros thanks to a 20-euro voucher. The small 16 cm x 12.5 cm x 7 cm projector has a native HD Ready resolution (1,280 x 720 pixels) and can also display Full HD content. You can also wirelessly stream movies and series from your smartphone or laptop via WiFi.
