“The Simpsons” (and the many supporting characters of the long-lived hit series) have been up to mischief for nearly 35 years. But even if the yellow cult family has already made it to the big screen, presenting itself in a different look in several special episodes (for example, in a more grounded anime style in a “Death Note” homage): a live-action adaptation of the animated sitcom has never existed!
And so countless artists over the years have felt compelled to imagine (in the true sense of the word) how Homer, Marge and Co. could look like in real life. After all, it’s hard to imagine with the quirky style of the series. According to drawn variants (later also with the help of digital tools), AI is of course currently the measure of everything.
There have been several attempts in the past to use artificial intelligence to create images of live-action counterparts of the residents of Springfield. But what now created using the popular AI program Midjourney raises the bar even higher. But it’s best just to see for yourself:
interprets the characters in his own way (this is especially noticeable with Marge, whose AI image would probably have been hard to associate with the “Simpsons” without knowing it), but he also built in many character traits that make them a big part of the characters unmistakable despite the new look. And the result is sometimes so terrifyingly realistic that you have to look three times to see that they are not real people.
In any case, we could well imagine that a live-action “Simpsons” movie could look exactly like this, especially since suitable actors* immediately come to mind in some places (we can’t be the only ones who immediately think of “Breaking Bad star Dean Norris thinks). It’s unlikely that a live-action adaptation will actually take place. But this little AI sneak peek is enough for us, simultaneously evoking fascination and a bit of horror in us and making it hard to leave If you feel the same, you can on Reddit itself even more “Simpsons” creations from to admire.
