Which concerts will be held at the National Library?

XVII. The 2023 Alfredo De Saint Malo International Academic Music Festival has already begun, and four of the scheduled concerts will be held at the Ernesto J. Castillero R. National Library in Panama.

The festival is organized by the Fundación Sinfonía Concertante de Panamá, and will be held until July 2, 2023, on different stages in the city.

For this year 2023, teachers will be honored Eduardo Charpentier de Castro and Eduardo Charpentier Herrera and a documentary film about their trajectories will be presented.

Concerts in the Binal

On Friday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m., “Notes from Brahms, Ravel and Beethoven” by artists Eric Silberger (violin) and Adolfo Vidal (piano) will be presented.

Venezuelan-born Vidal has been hailed as an “exciting and compelling pianist” and his playing has been praised for its “musical and natural virtuosity”.

For his part, Silberger was awarded at 14th International Tchaikovsky Competition 2011

Concert “Panama en Piano”, with Panamanian pianists Luis Troetsch and Margarita Troetsch.

The artists are recognized in Latin America as a very versatile duo, as they are soloists, chamber musicians and cultural managers. It will be presented on Saturday, June 24 at 11:00 a.m

A concert will be held on the same day at 18:00 “Chopin, Bach, Charpentier and Schwan”, artist Thomas Schwan, Italian-German pianist and composer. Musical honors include first prize at the 2020 World Bach Competition in Boulder, Colorado.
