Cosmopolitan in hand, feet up and TV on: this is what the perfect evening for ‘Sex And The City’ fans around the world looked like in the late 90s – and how do you say it? Old love does not rust. But on the contrary! The successful production ended in 2004 after six seasons, but of course it was never really forgotten. In 2021 there was finally a reunion with Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte with the sequel series “And Just Like That…”: and it was so successful that the second season is already in the starting blocks.
Already in the first season of “And Just Like That…” “Sex And The City” fans could experience a real rollercoaster ride of emotions and get up close and personal with the whole life of Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), just like that. Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) changed minute by minute. The first exciting steps towards a new life were taken and old habits were thrown overboard. And at the end of season 1, there was of course one question: will it continue – and if so, how?
It goes on! From June 22, 2023, the second season of “And Just Like That…” will start with two new episodes exclusively on WOW. Here are five reasons why Sex And The City fans should tune in!
1. The streets of New York are finally becoming catwalks again!
There’s no question that Sex And The City was way ahead of its time when it comes to fashion, and the looks (and especially the shoes!) that Carrie Bradshaw slipped into would have been a must-have for any fan. And that hasn’t really changed: “And Just Like That…” once again combines incredibly expensive brands with the coolest vintage flea market finds and styled in ways that even fashion professionals wouldn’t necessarily have thought of. So a seasoned “SATC” fan would be doubly happy if Carrie’s bag got its own seat during a restaurant visit in “And Just Like That…”!
2. New beginnings and cherished traditions
“Sex And The City” thrived on the fact that Carrie and her friends always had a lot to talk about – and really no topic (no matter how risqué) was left out. In “And Just Like That…” things look no different – on the contrary, age also brings more exciting challenges that need to be discussed! Various new beginnings are discussed in the usual candid manner. Miranda is now dating a woman, Carrie wonders if she can fall in love again after Mr. Big’s death, and Charlotte tries to be a modern, open-minded mother to her daughter – but she’s anything but unconventional…
3. New Faces and Old Friends!
It is already certain that the new season of “And Just Like That…” has two big surprises in store that will make fans of “Sex And The City” very happy. For example, there is a reunion with Carrie’s best friend Samantha (Kim Cattrall), who has left New York and lives in London. Also on board: Mr. Big! Carrie’s second love, Aidan Shaw (John Corbett). Does he still prefer to wear lumberjack shirts? And can he win Carrie’s heart again?
4. Carrie’s wise words
“I want my wealth where I can see it: at home in my closet!” When you have to work quite a long time to get a pair of coveted shoes, it’s really nice to listen to the woman, who’s been through a lot in the meantime. Absolutely nothing has changed in that respect over the years.
5. Time for lots of emotions!
And just like that… 2021 started with a tragedy that no one expected. Tears not only flowed in the series, but also in living rooms around the world. But the second season is all about new beginnings and that can be pretty exciting! That life consists of ups and downs is also true for Carrie and Co. nothing new. How good that they can always build on their friendship.
