Beer gardens are a must in the summer months. Whether with colleagues after work or with friends on the weekend – a cold beer with delicious grilled food is always a good idea. It’s good that gardens are extremely popular in Switzerland and therefore have a lot to offer.

1. Bauschänzli Beer Garden & Grill, Zurich

Bauschänzli in Zurich’s Stadthausquai is like an island in the Limmat and offers a self-service beer garden. Beers from local breweries, homemade sausages, grilled manure scrapers, tarte flambee, pasta and much more are on offer.

2. Beer garden, Baden AG

The beer garden in Baden AG stands out with the beer next door: right next to the garden is the Müller Bräu brewery. Since this season there is also the opportunity to play beer pong, and from June 2019 the offer will be expanded to include a beer garden brunch with beer and prosecco.

3. Beer garden by the lake, Beckenried NW

From mid-May to the end of September, the square next to Kurplatz in Beckenried NW transforms into a unique beer garden right on the lake. Beers from around the world are served with white sausage, pretzels and local dishes.

4. “Sonne am See” beer garden, Küsnacht

A traditional beer garden kitchen with a modern twist awaits you here. If you fancy a comforting treat with the best cocktails, ice cold beer and refreshing rosé, you’ve come to the right place. Everything, including a guarantee of good weather, because the lakeside garden remains closed in case of rain and storms.

5. Balmers beer garden, Matten near Interlaken BE

6. Haberbuni, Liebefeld BE

Haberbuni is located on the outskirts of Bern and is part of a 19th century farmhouse. The restaurant has a hall, a banquet and, of course, a garden. The second has a fresh beer, small snacks or a whole menu after work. In addition, although Haberbühni is close to the city, the garden provides a natural atmosphere thanks to an idyllic pond.

7. Le Biergarten, Friborg
