“Stranger Things” features an ’80s icon for the finale

She was one of the first female action stars and saved the world for Hollywood several times. Whether Linda Hamilton will succeed in the Netflix hit ‘Stranger Things’ remains exciting. She will certainly be there in the grand finale of the successful series, the streaming service has now announced.

Her involvement in the fifth and final season was announced at the Tudum fan event in Brazil by none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger. “My old friend – a fantastic actress, a tough guy – will be part of our Netflix family,” the Hollywood star moderated a video message to his colleague. “I don’t know what it will be like to be a fangirl and an actress at the same time,” the 66-year-old said in the clip about her new role.

Schwarzenegger and Hamilton co-starred in The Terminator (1984), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), and also in Terminator: Dark Fate (2019). The role of Sarah Connor gave the actress her big break in Hollywood and made her an action heroine and icon of the 1980s.

Linda Hamilton’s role in Stranger Things hasn’t been revealed yet, but is rumored to be action-packed. Netflix announced on Sunday: “The fifth season promises to be even darker, more menacing and more exciting than all previous seasons.” The episodes are currently in pre-production. When exactly they will be broadcast, however, is still unclear.

“Stranger Things” is the biggest English-language hit series on Netflix streaming service with four seasons to date, surpassed only by the Korean “Squid Game”. The creators hope for another huge success of the finale.
