Prime Day 2023: How to find the right 4K TV at Amazon’s biggest sale of the year

Summer is finally here: In addition to the rising temperatures, the technology deals are also getting hotter. Summer also means Amazon Prime Day — the biggest sale of the year at the Seattle-based online giant. Also this year there will be numerous smart TVs on offer. With some offers you can already save a lot today and you don’t have to wait. You currently get the price-performance ratio hit LG OLED CS9 with strong 48 percent discount*.

Because the best offers usually sell out quickly, we give you an overview of which TV sets can be worthwhile.

When will Amazon Prime Day 2023 take place?

Amazon’s big summer sale usually takes place between the end of June and the beginning of July. As it was on July 12 and 13 last year, it could fall on July 11 and 12 this year. As soon as the date is known, you will be the first to hear it here.

To take advantage of the Prime Day discounts, you need an Amazon Prime subscription. If you’re not yet a Prime customer, you can easily register shortly before Prime Day free trial* and enjoy the benefits of the 30-day membership in addition to the Prime Day deals.

Keep an eye out for these TV models from Sony, LG and Co

As the market leader and pioneer among OLED TVs, LG offers a number of top devices with great value for money. The former top model LG OLED G2* is still one of the best televisions on the market and has now come down in price considerably. At Amazon there is currently a 44 percent discount. LG’s strong representative of the upper middle class LG OLED C2* is still an absolute top recommendation and is only inferior to the G2 in terms of peak brightness. In addition, you should also get the price-performance ratio mentioned at the beginning LG OLED CS9* note that you can get it particularly cheap on Amazon.

Sony also offers top-of-the-line OLED TVs. The Sony Bravia A80K* not only shines with a fantastic picture, but also impresses with the so-called acoustic multi-audio technology, which delivers such good sound that you don’t need an extra soundbar to enjoy the movie. The Sony A80K is now also in an absolutely fair price range and could be even cheaper on Prime Day.

Sony’s flagship 2022 model, the Sony Bravia A95K* Like Samsung, it relies on the innovative fusion of QLED and OLED (“QD-OLED”) display technologies and is one of the best the market has to offer. Here, too, you get top quality sound thanks to Sony’s modern audio technology.

Samsung’s flagship from last year Samsung OLED-S95B* Like the Sony TV, it has a QD OLED screen with incredibly brilliant, high-contrast images. In addition, the screen is very anti-reflective and is also suitable for use in very bright rooms. Only the built-in speakers are beaten by the strong competition from Sony.

Philips also offers some OLED TVs that do not have to shy away from comparison with the competition. For fans of the harmonious Ambilight backlight, Philips cannot ignore it anyway. But the image quality is also comparable to that of Sony, LG and Samsung. It is recommended Phillips OLED 807* whose image quality is just below that of the top models from Sony and LG. Overall, the Philips cuts a good figure in almost all disciplines and even outsmarts the competition by supporting Dolby Vision and HDR10+ HDR technologies, unlike many of its competitors. It only leaves points in the unnecessarily cumbersome TV menu.

TV for the small wallet: this is how much TV you get for your money

Of course we also want to introduce you to TVs under 1000 euros. A hot tip is currently the Sony X85K 4K Smart TV*, which achieves very good contrast values for an LED TV. It’s even closer to the strong black levels of OLED TVs Sony XR-50X90S*which enables even more precise lighting with Full Array LED technology.

If you want an OLED display, you will find it at LG. The LG OLED A2* currently costs no less than 649 euros in the 48-inch version. Here there is a very good picture with good contrast and accurate colors, simple operation and many smart TV functions. You have to compromise with the 50 Hz refresh rate and the missing HDMI 2.1 connections, which are especially important for gaming.

As with any major sale, it pays to compare prices before buying. You might even get some models cheaper before Prime Day than during the campaign.
