The Marvel Scooper reports that one of his sources told him that Sony and Marvel have already decided on July 12, 2024 as the US release date for “Spider-Man 4” starring Tom Holland. However we’re putting a big question mark after the date, so don’t mark it in your calendar just yet.
Because just two weeks later, on July 24, 2024, Disney’s Marvel team movie “Thunderbolts” kicks off on current plans. Even if the Maushaus and Sony do end up making their own diaries, they’re exactly in agreement when it comes to finding the date as part of the current Marvel collaboration. With two Marvel launches so close together, you’re competing for the same screens. That ends up hurting both movies.
Perez therefore speculates that “Thunderbolts” will still be delayed — as part of a larger date-finding campaign. Unfortunately, these shifts have just happened – shortly after his article was published and in the wake of the “Blade” delays. Marvel hasn’t touched Thunderbolts. If you had already agreed with Sony about the “Spider-Man 4” date in July, you probably would have taken part right away.
So it is quite possible that Perez’s source contains incorrect or outdated information. At least we think Thunderbolts will keep July and another date will be found for Spider-Man 4 – but it could still be in 2024which is due to the other rumor going around.
The rumor has been going around for a while that after the multiverse craze in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” you’ll want to take a completely different direction in the direct sequel. You don’t want to go straight to the teased symbiote connection at the end (which should be saved for later), but show the hero in battle on the street. That also fits with his new loner situation. After the end of No Way Home, Peter Parker finally has no allies (or even acquaintances).
And this is where Marvel scooper Perez comes in with his information. Accordingly, “Spider-Man 4” can be directly linked to the events of the “Daredevil: Born Again” series, which will be available on Disney+ in the spring of 2024. This ties in with other rumors currently circulating. More scoopers report big appearances from “Daredevil” Charlie Cox and “Kingpin” Vincent D’Onofrio in “Spider-Man 4”.
There is still a rumor, so you have to curb the anticipation. But since there are similar reports from different directions, there is much to be said for something to be true. So there’s a good chance we’ll finally get some really good Daredevil action in theaters (because the Ben Affleck movie didn’t give us that).
That the current Marvel lineage can create sharp, spectacular action for Daredevil has already been proven with a small scene in the current Disney+ series “She-Hulk: The Lawyer”. That was just a small taste, because he’s just a side character in the series, after all. But the implementation thrilled even the creators of the first season of the Netflix “Daredevil” series: Steven S. DeKnight noted. suggests he’s a little jealous of the action in She-Hulk. With more budget, the Disney+ series was finally able to make the blind vigilante perform moves he could only dream of with a mix of CGI and hand-crafted stunt work.
Incidentally, the final episode of “She-Hulk” will be available on Disney+ on October 13, 2022. “Spider-Man 4” could then follow in the course of 2024. But we don’t believe it will really be July.
