This home theater comeback offers over 5 hours of nostalgic adventure entertainment – soul balm included!

Beautiful nature shots, wild animals, some adventure and a good pinch of feel-good cinema full of family feeling, tranquility and a cuddly factor: with this formula, “The adventures of the Robinson family in the wilderness” and its sequels crept into many hearts.

But whether you know the trilogy from your own childhood and want to revive your homely feeling, or pass on your nostalgia for the sentimental adventures, it ended up being an expensive undertaking. Because the Blu-ray trilogy set that appeared six years ago can usually only be found second-hand and at attractive prices. But: This week, the Robinsons in the Wilderness trilogy got a remastered Blu-ray Complete Edition!

For those of you who don’t take a rustic approach to technology like the Robinsons, but take it easy on your home theater setup, there’s also a dvd box* trilogy from the 1970s.

Log cabin idyll instead of the hustle and bustle of the big city

The Robinson family lives and suffers in Los Angeles: the hustle and bustle of the busy metropolis constantly saps the energy of dad Skip (Robert Logan), mom Pat (Susan Damante Shaw), daughter Jenny (Hollye Holmes) and son Toby (Ham Larsen) . ).

When Jenny also develops health problems, the family decides to move to the Rocky Mountains. From the seclusion of a cozy log cabin, they want to marvel at the wonders of nature – but must realize that even the most beautiful corners of the earth have dangers to offer!

“The Adventures of the Robinson Family in the Wilderness” was directed by Stewart Raffill, who must be mostly known to trash movie aficionados. He directed “Tammy And The T-Rex” among others. This is an unforgettable movie oddity starring Denise Richards and Paul Walker as a teenager whose mind is placed inside a dummy dinosaur.

“The Robinson Family in the Wilderness” doesn’t strike such curious notes, but it is no-nonsense feel-good family cinema with some animal action and lots of rustic-beautiful couleur locale. In the Frank Zuniga-directed sequel, More Wilderness Adventures of the Robinson Family, the eponymous family prepares for the freezing winter and must defend themselves against menacing wolves and robbers.

Finally, in John Cotter’s “Further Wilderness Adventures of the Robinson Family”, the Robinsons deal with bureaucrats who want to take their land from them. If, on the other hand, you want to experience a “Family Robinson” movie with significantly more action and adventure, you will find it on Disney+, curiously enough under the title “Jungle of 1000 dangers”:

Where does this abrupt switch to a completely different sounding film come from? Well, the adventurous comedy classic, originally titled “Swiss Family Robinson,” is about a reluctant family who drops out: a castaway family makes a remote island their refuge.

Like the Wilderness Adventures of the Robinson Family, the Disney movie thrives on compelling wildlife shots, but there’s also a hefty dose of slapstick action and adventurous mayhem.
