Dear summer, we are so happy that you honored us so early this year. We are currently enjoying one sunny day after another. And we like to finish the evening with a cold drink on the balcony or in the garden, toasting the picturesque sunset with a glass in hand.
What goes into the glass is always a matter of taste. But on hot days we especially like fruity, fresh cocktails.

Very important: the drink should be ice cold! You can do this with crushed ice or ice cubes. The first is suitable for various alcoholic cocktails, as it is watered faster and softens the taste. If you’re mixing a drink with very little alcohol and lots of juice, it’s best to use ice cubes because the ice flows more slowly and doesn’t get watery as quickly.

1. Cocktail tip: watermelon and strawberry ice cream

We choose Frosé, short for Frozen Rosé, as the summer drink of the moment. The taste of the ice cold drink is very delicious and we can’t get enough of it. Frozen rosé wine can be garnished with a wide variety of notes such as watermelon and strawberry.

And the drink is mixed like this:

  1. Rose and watermelon should be kept in the freezer for at least eight hours. It’s best to do this a day in advance: pour the rosette into a bowl and line a bowl of baking paper for the melon chunks. Then into the freezer.
  2. Sherbet is made from water, sugar, mint and strawberries. First, put the water and sugar in a saucepan and boil it until the sugar dissolves. Then add the mint and strawberries after taking it from the stove.
  3. Mix everything well and let it cool. Strain and collect the liquid syrup.
  4. Take the rosé and watermelon out of the freezer and put them in a blender along with the syrup. Mix it well.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

2. Cocktail tip: Pink Paloma

Pink Paloma feels like pure summer without even sipping from a glass. It combines the taste of fresh grapefruit and tangy lime. It’s a nice mix that we take to another dimension with a nice looking salt edge.

And this is how the drink is mixed

  1. Decorating first: Put some salt on a small plate. Lubricate the rim of the glass with the juice of a lime. Then dip the glass in salt – and you’ll get the nice salt edge.
  2. For the drink: The first step is to pour the tequila into the glass. Add the lime juice and mix well.
  3. Fill with grapefruit lemonade and garnish with ice.
  4. Serve and enjoy!

3. Cocktail tip: raspberry mojito

A classic that takes us to the Caribbean beaches at the first sip: the Mojito is evergreen. This summer we’ll be decorating with a fresh twist and adding raspberries.

  3. Put the mint in the glass and add the remaining raspberry and lemon slices. Put ice cubes in the drink and fill it with mineral water.
  4. Serve and enjoy!

4. Cocktail tip: Limoncello Spritz

We imagine the Amalfi Coast, lined with lemon trees, where the fragrant scents meet with the fresh sea breeze. We toast to La Dolce Vita with a glass of limoncello. If you want to bring that Italian feel to your home, you can mix a limoncello spritz according to Denise’s recipe shared on her “Foodlovin'” blog.

Add the basil and let the mixture steep long enough, preferably overnight. Then strain the syrup through a sieve and pour it into a bottle.
  3. Pour the chilled cream bottle and limoncello into a pitcher. Add 150 milliliters of homemade syrup.
  4. Pour into a glass and garnish with ice cubes, lemon wedges and basil leaves.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

5. Cocktail tip: California sour peaches

This drink from Jasmin from the «Kitchen Deern» blog does not transport us to California, but it refreshes us on hot summer days and is simply delicious. The sour note disappears in a delicious cream-topped peach lemonade – what more could you ask for?

  3. Serve and enjoy!
