Many fans will probably look forward to the new season of “The Witcher” with mixed feelings, because at the end of the season we have to say “Adieu, goodbye and goodbye” to the chief witcher Henry Cavill, who left the series after three seasons and replaced by Liam Hemsworth (“Independence Day: Resurgence”) as the sword-wielding monster hunter.
There’s a new trailer for Henry Cavill’s farewell seasonin which we get a better idea of the dangers that Geralt (Cavill) and his companions Ciri (Freya Allan) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) will face in the final episodes.
Incidentally, it was already known that the third season of “The Witcher” will appear in two parts: You can stream the first half of season 3 on Netflix starting June 29, 2023, while the big Henry Cavill finale will be available to watch on the red N streaming giant from July 27.
Excitingly, the division of the third season, which consists of 8 episodes, does not take place exactly after episode 4. “Volume 1” consists of five episodes, the second half of the season, which was released in July as “Volume 2”, then brings three more episodes. While this may seem comical on the surface, we assume that a pivotal event will occur after Episode 5 – perhaps a cliffhanger or time jump – and that the last three episodes form a cohesive grand finale.
That’s what The Witcher Season 3 is all about
The third season of the popular fantasy series, which is based on the work of fantasy legend Andrzej Sapkowski, will be based in content on the book “The Time of Contempt”. The focus here is mainly on Geralt’s foster daughter Ciri (Freya Allan), who has to defend herself against all kinds of parties who are after her and want her precious blood.
But of course the young witch does not have to face her opponents alone. At her side are the dreaded witcher Geralt (Henry Cavill) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra). It is very likely that the third season will also lead directly to the spin-off “The Witcher: Rats”. In this spin-off, which takes place between the events of seasons 3 and 4, Ciri joins a criminal gang of misfits known as the “Rat Gang”.
