Thomas Danneberg was the regular voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger in Germany – from early successes like “Conan” and “Terminator” to “The Expendables”, “Sabotage” and “The Last Stand” series (with “Escape Plan” as the only one notable exception, because there they wanted to avoid a double synchro, since Danneberg also spoke Stallone). But Thomas Danneberg has been retired for several years. In “Terminator: Dark Fate”, Bernd Egger mentioned the Hollywood star who first emigrated from Austria.
After appearing in the few other roles Schwarzenegger played in the recent past, such as “Killing Gunther”, “Iron Mask” or a cameo appearance on “Young Rock”, Egger now called him in the popular Netflix series “FUBAR“. In our opinion, it was an especially important cast because it should certainly clarify that Bernd Egger really will continue to be Arnold Schwarzenegger’s new permanent German voice – especially after praise from the star herself!
Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed on Twitter that he had already watched “FUBAR” several times – while doing so once in the German dubbed version and concludes, “This guy was fantastic!” It’s a tribute to Bernd Egger!
Schwarzenegger’s statement should also be received with great interest in fan circles. Finally, there was a heated argument over the successor rule with Egger. Many fans were excited that Egger manages to get very, very close to Schwarzenegger’s previous spokesperson, Danneberg. On the other hand, some complained that the voice actor, who was born in 1984, had to push his voice a lot to sound as old as the Hollywood star, who was born in 1947. But Schwarzenegger himself seems to have a clear opinion: Egger has what it takes!
