The Sepla pilots’ union has announced that the indefinite strike at the regional airline Air Nostrum will be extended to all days of the week, instead of the previously established two days of the week (Monday and Friday). It will start next Tuesday and now the Ministry of Transport must establish minimum services which the company hopes “will be as least harmful to passengers as possible”, he advanced. Air Nostrum regretted the “new and radicalized call”.
The airline operates from the Galician airports of Santiago and Vigo.
Seplo explained that the airline’s “immobility” in the negotiations on the collective agreement “prompted us to take this difficult step”. Air Nostrum, for its part, explained that it offered the union delegation external arbitration to try to end the conflict, which the union rejected. It offers an increase in accumulated salary over the next three years of a consolidated 13%.
