Historic triple classification for Panamanian gymnastics

In Medellín, Colombia, the Panamanian gymnasts qualified for the next round The 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile and the World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium which is also celebrated this year.

During the weekend, a group of 9 gymnasts, 5 female gymnasts and 4 male gymnasts, participated in Pan American Artistic Gymnastics for Adults in Medellín, Colombiasporting event which
brought together 25 countries out of 32 that make up the Pan American Gymnastics Union, and which awards Odds for the Pan American Games in Santiago 2023 and the World Gymnastics Championships in
Antwerp, Belgium 2023, both events which in turn award quotas for Olympic Games PARIS 2024.

Women’s team consisting of Karla Navas, Hillary Heron, Lana Herrera, Valentina Brostella and Lucía Paulino, appeared on May 27th in the standings where they won eighth place as a team, achieving the first of 3 goals set at this championship: advancing to the Pan American team finals, where the girls will see action on Sunday, May 28th.

Although not officially published, following classification regulations Pan American Gymnastics Union and International Gymnastics Federationwe dare not
progress to the gymnastics family and the Panamanian people that the Federation has achieved its 4 goals set in this Pan American Artistic Gymnastics, which brought together all countries
America participates in artistic gymnastics.

Being among the top 9 teams in the Americas also gave them a pass into the team classification for the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games which will be held next
October 2023 in Santiago de Chile.

Also individually, gymnastics shines in the hands of Karla Navas and Lana Herrera who get 2 out of 2 possible places to participate in the World Cup in Sports Gymnastics in
Antwerp, Belgium 2023 at the end of next September. The World Cup that secures places for the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

It should be noted that the athlete is Hillary Heronfor its world order in Jumping after the bronze medal in the show jumping at the World Cup in CairoEgypt also has a place at the Gymnastics World Cup in Antwerp, Belgium in 2023, so Panama will be present at the Gymnastics World Cup for the first time with 3 athletes.

In the men’s branch, athlete Richard Atencio, for his part, achieves one (1) place in the classification for Pan American Games Santiago 2023. The next term of artistic gymnastics is the Central American Games and Caribbean San Salvador 2023 at the end of June, where the Women’s branch will participate with a team of 5 gymnasts, and the Men’s branch with 3 individual athletes.

The sports agenda of these athletes does not end here, the second half of the year the athletes expect competitive commitments in South American gymnastics, the World Cup in Paris,
Gymnastics World Cup and Central American Gymnastics Championship.

Explanation: Panamanian gymnastics was already classified individually in both disciplines in Pan American Gamesbut this time it is sorted by teams.
