An Air France plane Author: AIR FRANCE

France is the first in the world to implement this measure to combat climate change, and it will be applied, in principle, for three years

France became the first country in the world to ban domestic flights that have an alternative train It lasts less than two and a half hours.

The measure, which aims to reduce the CO2 emissions generated by these short trips, will be applied, for now, for three years in order to evaluate its effectiveness later. Of course, train journeys that require the suspension of flights between two nearby cities must have “sufficient frequency and an adequate schedule”, in addition to a connection that allows the passenger to be at the destination in at least eight hours.
