Alcampo distributes more than 31 million premiums to its staff in Spain

Alcampo distributed 31.2 million euros in 2022 as bonuses and shares through profit sharing plans and personal and team variable compensation in Spain, the statement said.

Specifically, more than 12 million euros were delivered as ‘profit sharing’ to more than 16,000 workers who are company shareholders.

The voluntary shareholding plan has been present in Spain since 1996, as a tool for active participation in the company, and currently 88% of companies participate in it.

Alcampo explained that in addition to distribution plans for shareholders, there are others aimed at the entire workforce through which recognize and reward good results achievedteam and individually, distributing a total of 19 million euros in 2022, according to these concepts.

The chain’s human resources director, Patricia Gonzalez, emphasized that “the cornerstone of Alcamp’s HR policy has always been to encourage participation in the company from a holistic point of view”. “The distribution of benefits and variable income are part of this policy, which encourages responsibility, opinion, constant ‘feedback’ and, of course, corporate volunteering and training,” he pointed out.

In 2018, Alcampo launched its corporate volunteer project, which was created to share experiences and connect with the immediate environment. Since its foundation, more than 11,400 workers have participated in activities related to improving the environment and society, as well as knowledge and experience about the product since its creation. In 2022, more than 650 people participated in these sessions for 1,500 hours.

Regarding training, 210,000 hours of training were held in 2022, in which the distribution company invested 32% more than in 2021, which exceeds five million euros.

Currently, Alcampo, after the recent acquisition of Dia facilities, has 539 stores, including 80 hypermarkets and small hypermarkets and 459 supermarkets (of which 131 are franchised), as well as 53 gas stations, an online shopping service ‘and more than 23,000 employees.
