The airport concession will be according to the APP law

He Tocumen International Airport (Aitsa) is preparing to hand over the management of regional airports which he leads and for this purpose will allocate it through Law 93 on Public-Private Association (APP).

Aitsa continued with the call for a concession for Enrique A. Jiménez Airport, Colonwhose proposals will be received on June 26.

On April 25, representatives of 10 companies visited the Atlantic terminalwhere they received more information about the basics of the process, they reported from Tocumen Airport.

Currently, Aitsa manages the Colón, David, Panamá Pacífico and Río Hato airports, however, they are not self-sustaining, so they must be subsidized by the international terminal, based on a technical report to be approved for management.

Tocumen SA has revealed opportunities to promote the development of these airports through plans for the growth of tourism and the development of a multimodal logistics centerfor which the Board of Directors authorized the general manager Raffoul Arab to convene an extraordinary recruitment procedure.

The counseling will cover the preliminary phase, the second of technical feasibility studies and one to support the implementation of the APP.’

The initial phase includes a preliminary feasibility study with the collection of necessary information and strategic visits to regional airports.

A feasibility study includes a market analysis, traffic projections and capacity requirementsin which the condition of the terminal’s runways, passenger buildings will be considered, and the need for infrastructure development will be determined.

The traffic projections will be based on 30 yearsin the studies being conducted.
