The platform will shut down InCareer, its app for China, this year

The social network aimed at professionals LinkedIn, owned by Microsoft, reported that it will implement staffing adjustments that will see the departure of 716 professionals, in addition to announcing the closure of InCareer, its China app, in August.

In an email to employees, LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky explained that the company is watching changes in customer behavior and slower revenue growth.

The company intends to realign its global business organization for the next phase of growth through increased agility and growth towards fiscal year 2024, including reorganization of work methods, greater agility and coordination of teams for growth.

So, LinkedIn You will remove layers from your organization, reducing management roles and expanding responsibilities for faster decision-making, while investing in profitable growth opportunities and ensuring you have the right roles for the job you need, which means reducing roles such as opening more than 250 new positions in certain segments, new companies and account management teams starting May 15.

On the other hand, the company announced that it will focus its strategy in China on helping companies operating in the Asian giant to recruit, market and train abroad, which will mean maintaining the Talent, Marketing and Learning businesses, while phasing out InCareer , the local application for employment in China, until August 9, 2023.

“While InCareer had some success last year thanks to our strong China-based team, it also faced fierce competition and a challenging macroeconomic climate,” Roslansky acknowledged. LinkedIn has already retired the local version of its portal for China in 2021 faced with a “significantly more challenging operating environment and increased compliance requirements” at the Asian giant, then launches its own independent recruitment app.
