Garcia first saw action in the IBJJF Miami Open in Florida, winning a bronze medal in the Master 1 category of blue belt, lightweight (168 lbs). At the same tournament, Ariel López defeated American Top Team’s Anthony García in the finals of the Master 1 Featherweight (141 lbs) division, crowning him the champion of the division.
Meanwhile in Dallas, Texas, at the World Jiu Jitsu League American Nationals, Jorge Calviño Mudarra He was on the podium for the second time this month, winning a bronze medal in the brown belt category (168 lbs), losing in the semifinals to Sean Robertson of New Wave Jiu Jitsu.
