Sabadell defends the digitization of banking and making Galicia a benchmark in innovation

Author: PACO RODRIGUEZ

Pablo Junceda, General Manager of the entity in Galicia, assures that “a strong, digital bank, which is committed to talent and which shares values with its clients, is the key to compete in a global context of uncertainty”

Pablo Junceda, General Manager of Sabadell Gallego and Deputy General Manager of Banco Sabadell, yesterday defended the digitalization of banking, being with customers when and where they need it: “A strong, digital bank that is committed to talent and shares values with its customers are the keys to competition in a global context of uncertainty.” He stated that this scenario will “lead to profound and disruptive changes in the traditional business model” of the sector.

He stated that on the eve of the relocation of manufacturing in the 1990s, “it is true that it is more difficult to relocate innovation than traditional manufacturing.” For this reason, he emphasized the importance of “promoting talent, innovation” and turning Galicia into an innovative benchmark, hand in hand with universities, companies and public bodies.

He said this at the Tambre business center in Santiago, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, after visiting with the president of the industrial estate José Fernández Alborés the biopoles A Sionlla, which will attract innovative companies in the field of health sciences, with two already installed.

Junceda analyzed the current economic context, which has seen a shift from resilience to “polycrisis” uncertainty, and called for “prudent optimism”, noting that there will be a slowdown in Spain, but not a dramatic one. He explained this by lower energy dependence on Russia, accumulated savings and reduced levels of private debt, together with relatively better performance of the labor market, the performance of Next Generation funds, exports and a strengthened and solvent banking sector.
