Xavi admits that Barcelona’s defeat was deserved

Xavi Hernandez andcoach from Barcelona, mourned the loss against Lightning, whatwhich he described as “deserved”, and he is critical of his team which “didn’t have the necessary intensity” to decide the League.

He Barcelona lost in Vallecas vs. Rayin a match in which he conceded two goals from Alvaro Garcia and Fran Garciaone in each half, and they could not reduce the deficit until the 83rd minute with a goal from Robert Lewandowski.

With this result Barcelona remains the leader with 76 points, eleven ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, while Rayo with 43 remains ninth to four from the sixth place that gives access to Europe.

“We didn’t play a good game. We knew how difficult this stadium is, but we weren’t comfortable and we weren’t right. We had faith and courage, but Rayo is a fair winner,” he said. Xavi at the press conference.

The best news for him Barcelona is that him Real Madrid lost in Girona and seven days until the end of the championship, they maintain an advantage of eleven points compared to the second-placed team.

“You can’t win the league, everything costs money. Every away game is a war, but we have an eleven point advantage in total and that means we did our homework well. Despite that, we can’t fall asleep. We can’t lower the intensity or this competitive rhythm that we achieved against Atlética,” said the Barca coach, when asked if he works for a long time League.

“No, not that, what I want is to win. What makes me angry is that we didn’t compete as we should, but on Saturday there is another game. We want to win the League, and the proof of that is that we have a spectacular result, but we also understand that it is difficult to win in any game. We brought a well-deserved defeat”, he pointed out.

“He Ray It’s a great team, they’re technically very good, but that’s no excuse. We were not at the level that the party demanded. Today I am angry and sad because we played with fourteen points. There is no excuse. We need to think in Betis and think in the future,” he concluded.
For his part, Ronald Araujo, Barcelona’s Uruguayan centre-back, lamented the loss to Rayo, admitting that his rivals “deserved to win” and assured that his team “were not up to the task in the first half”.
